Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
Introduction
ITFROMit ("we", "our", "us") publishes a free newsletter of international remote job opportunities for Italian freelancers. This Privacy Policy explains which personal data we process when you visit itfromit.com, subscribe to our newsletter, read our emails or contact us, and what choices you have. We process personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 (the Italian Privacy Code) and the guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali), including its Guidelines on the use of tracking pixels in emails (decision no. 284 of 17 April 2026).
1. Data Controller
The data controller is Ettore Etenzi, operating as ITFROMit, VAT no. 07323360482.
Contact email for any privacy matter: info@itfromit.com.
2. What Data We Process and Why
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sending the newsletter, at the frequency stated in the subscription form, and managing your subscription (confirmation, updates, unsubscription) | Email address; date, time and source of subscription | Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; Art. 130 Italian Privacy Code) | Until you unsubscribe; then deleted within 30 days |
| Measuring email opens and clicks to produce aggregate statistics (see section 3) | Open and click events, date and time, IP address, device and email client | Your consent (Art. 122 Italian Privacy Code; Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). For subscribers who joined before 29 October 2026: the transitional regime set by the Garante, with the right to stop tracking at any time | Individual events: up to 12 months, then kept only as aggregate figures |
| Proof of your choices (consents, stop-tracking requests, unsubscriptions) | Email address, choice made, date and time | Obligation to demonstrate consent (Art. 7(1) GDPR) and legitimate interest in defending our rights (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) | Up to 24 months after unsubscription |
| Replying to messages sent through the contact form or by email, including companies sharing a job opportunity | Name, email address, company, content of the message | Steps at your request / our legitimate interest in replying (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) | Up to 12 months after the conversation ends |
| Running and securing the website | IP address, browser type, technical logs | Legitimate interest in the security and functioning of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) | Server logs: up to 30 days |
We do not collect special categories of data, we do not sell or rent your data, and we do not make automated decisions about you. Every subscriber receives the same newsletter: we do not profile subscribers or select content on the basis of their individual behaviour.
3. Tracking Pixels and Links in Our Emails
Our newsletter emails may contain a tracking pixel: a tiny, invisible image hosted on the servers of our email provider, EmailOctopus. When you open an email and your email program downloads images, the pixel is requested from that server, which records that you opened the email, together with the date and time, your IP address and information about your device and email client. Links in our emails may also be redirected through EmailOctopus to record that you clicked them. The pixel does not read the content of your mailbox; if your email program does not load images, opens are not recorded.
What we use it for. We use this information only to calculate aggregate statistics, such as the overall open rate and which job listings receive the most clicks, to improve the newsletter and to show companies how many readers our listings reach. We do not use your individual opens or clicks to change what you receive, to decide how often we write to you, to infer your interests, or to remove you from the list.
You can stop the tracking at any time without unsubscribing. Every email contains, in the footer, two separate options:
- Unsubscribe – you will stop receiving the newsletter;
- Receive emails without tracking – you keep receiving the newsletter, and we send it to you with open and click tracking switched off.
You can also ask to stop the tracking by writing to info@itfromit.com. We record your choice with its date and time and apply it from the next email we send. Choosing to stop the tracking has no other consequence: you will receive exactly the same newsletter.
Subscribers who joined before 29 October 2026 were informed of the tracking by email, sent without any tracking pixel, and can use the options above at any time. New subscribers are informed in the subscription form and give their consent to open measurement together with their consent to receive the newsletter, through a checkbox that is not pre-ticked.
4. Who Receives Your Data
Your data is processed by us and by service providers acting on our behalf as data processors under Art. 28 GDPR:
- EmailOctopus – newsletter sending, subscription forms, open and click tracking. EmailOctopus is based in the United Kingdom, which benefits from an adequacy decision of the European Commission; any further transfer outside the EEA is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses under EmailOctopus's data processing agreement.
We share only aggregate, non-identifying statistics with companies that publish job opportunities in the newsletter. We never share your email address or your individual activity with them.
If you join the ITFROMit community groups on Telegram or LinkedIn, those platforms process your data as independent controllers under their own privacy policies.
5. Cookies
The website uses technical cookies necessary for it to function. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
6. Your Rights Under GDPR
Under Articles 15–22 GDPR you have the right to:
- access your personal data and obtain a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time – to the newsletter, to tracking, or to both – without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal;
- lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it).
To exercise your rights, use the links at the bottom of any email or write to info@itfromit.com. We reply within one month.
7. Data Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse, and we use providers that offer equivalent guarantees.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy, for example if we change the frequency of the newsletter or the tools we use. We will publish the new version on this page with its date and, for significant changes, we will notify subscribers by email in advance.
